Arabella Tresilian is a CEDR-accredited mediator specialising in mental health and social care, who is also an approved Mental Health First Aid instructor. Arabella practices mediation independently and for the Medical Mediation Foundation and Resolve West. She has experience in mediating cases in the fields of the Court of Protection, Judicial Review, Mental Health Act, palliative care, advance care planning, NHS treatment pathway disputes, workplace, employment and community.
Arabella also works as faculty with CEDR to train accredited mediators in Workplace Mediation, and with the Medical Mediation Foundation to train paediatric health professionals to become accredited mediators.
Arabella set up the School of Dialogue brand to train individuals in communication and conflict resolution skills, with an emphasis on mental health and wellbeing. In association with Bath Mind, Arabella has trained over 220 Mental Health First Aiders since qualifying as a MHFA instructor in 2019. Across her various workstreams, Arabella trained and mediated for over 1800 individuals in 2020/21. Arabella’s mental health advocacy work has been featured on Radio 4’s Inside Health, Financial Times, ITN News, Public Health England, Psychologies Magazine and even The Sun.Arabella spoke on ‘Mental Health and Mediation’ at the CMC Annual Conference 2020 and in 2021 began training accredited mediators in Mental Health First Aid England’s certificated courses, to positive reviews: “This was an excellent course and I feel much more confident to approach a current mediation where one of the parties possibly has quite severe mental health problems.
